Atlantic City Blackjack. A Guide & Strategy.

If you are playing at a casino that uses Cryptologic software to power its games, such as Intercasino, then the chances are that you'll be playing Atlantic City Blackjack.

Atlantic City Blackjack is played with considerably more cards than the European variant, with 8 decks of 52 cards being used. From this deck, the dealer's cards are dealt at the same time as the players. This is known as an American Hole Card game. When the dealer’s cards are dealt, one card is face up whilst the other remains face down. Like with European Blackjack, the dealer must stand on soft 17.

Other rules include:

  • You may double down on any cards (it has to be the first 2 obviously).
  • You may double down after splitting.
  • You can spilt 3 times- ie you can play with a maximum of 4 hands (youmust bet an equal amount for each hand).
  • You can only split aces once.
  • You can split 10 vale cards even if they are different.
  • You can only split once.
  • You cannot surrender.
  • The dealer will check for blackjack- if his pocket cards are a blackjack, the game is over before you play so you don't lose any more money doubling down, for example.
